Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker Role
As a Social Worker within the Salford Older Adults CMHT, your core responsibilities will include:
Care and Support Planning

Reviewing and assessing the care and support needs of older adults experiencing mental health difficulties

Developing, implementing, and reviewing personalised support plans that promote individuals’ rights, wellbeing, and independence

Managing and mitigating associated risks effectively while respecting client autonomy
Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Ensuring all care and support planning aligns with key legislation, including:

Essential Qualifications and Skills for Social Worker Applicants
To be considered for this Social Worker role, you must meet the following essential criteria:
Mandatory Qualifications

Recognised Social Work qualification such as Degree, CQSW, CSS, Dip SW, or equivalent

Current professional registration with Social Work England
Professional Experience and Skills

Experience or interest in working with older adults and mental health services

Ability to conduct strength-based assessments and develop effective care plans

Proficient understanding and application of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act

Strong safeguarding skills, including carrying out Section 42 enquiries

Effective workload management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and quality standards

Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with service users, families, carers, and multi-agency teams

Competent IT skills for accurate record-keeping and reporting using relevant software systems
