About the Role
The British Museum is seeking a Management Accountant to join its Finance department. This position plays a key role in delivering a first-class management accounting service across the Museum.
As a Management Accountant, you will:
- 
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, and analyses
 - 
Deliver projects within scope, budget, and deadlines
 - 
Support consolidated financial statements and liaise with auditors
 - 
Partner with various departments and contribute to the Museum-wide budgeting process
 
Key Areas of Responsibility
- 
Work alongside management accountants and the accounts processing team to deliver best-practice accounting and reporting services
 - 
Prepare financial reports and forecasts
 - 
Compile material for the consolidated financial statements
 - 
Liaise with internal and external auditors
 - 
Ensure compliance with public and charitable sector regulations
 - 
Analyse income and expenditure to improve efficiency and profitability
 - 
Review financial information for business cases and funding applications
 
About You
- 
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
 - 
ACA accountancy qualification
 - 
Strong technical knowledge of Accounting Standards, income tax, NI, and VAT
 - 
Audit experience, including post-qualification experience
 - 
Ability to manage complex problems across disciplines
 - 
Excellent oral and written communication skills
 - 
Confident decision-maker with effective problem-solving abilities
