An exciting opportunity is available for a fully qualified CCAB or CIMA professional to join Hywel Dda University Health Board as Assistant Head of Financial Accounting. This role is central to the accuracy and integrity of the accounting ledger and plays a vital part in month-end and year-end reporting.
You will serve as the primary contact for the Financial Accounting Team and will be responsible for core financial operations and external reporting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- 
Prepare financial accounting data for Welsh Government and Audit Wales reporting.
 - 
Manage the Health Board’s day-to-day cash operations.
 - 
Provide financial guidance related to the Health Board’s Charity.
 - 
Oversee daily operations of the Financial Accounting Team.
 - 
Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders, including auditors.
 - 
Foster a culture of governance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Knowledge (Essential)
- 
Fully qualified CCAB or CIMA member
 - 
Proven experience at a management level
 - 
In-depth understanding of integrated financial systems
 
Desirable
- 
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
 - 
Knowledge of Oracle System Accounting
 
Experience (Essential)
- 
Team management experience
 - 
Proven ability to deliver under pressure
 - 
Strong track record in financial reporting and change management
 - 
Proficiency with large data sets
 - 
Knowledge of NHS financial procedures
 
Desirable

Experience managing charitable accounts
